Over the year, my knowledge of the game industry has increased substantially. I have learned a lot about the various fields within the game industry and how all of them work together in order to create a finished product. I have also learned how the game design process is done in order to create a game. The lessons that had the biggest impact on me and my potential employment in the game industry were the career practices, production management, and 3D game creation lessons since they gave me a better understanding of what I want to do in the game industry, which lies somewhere in the computer science realm. the lessons that I think should be removed from AGAD are some of the audio and video lessons since I think we spent too much time on learning audio and video when we could've learned the basics from a few tutorials that we could then use later on for our showreels. This course could offer assignments that reflect a students interests within the game industry in order to better prepare students for a future in the game industry. For instance, giving a student who wants to be a programmer an assignment to code a certain thing within a game or to fix code that was purposefully messed up so that hey could learn better debugging practices. This year has helped me prepare for making my own game next year since it has allowed me to develop my programming skills and it has allowed me to get accustomed to Unity and its interface (which could change if we move over to Unreal Engine, somthing I am not opposed to).
