This week, I have been learning how to rig a model inside 3D Studio Max 2014 in order to animate it. So far, the most challenging part of learning how to rig a model is how to get the bones and the model to move properly without the model tearing or bending weirdly. I am still working on figuring out how to make sure the bones move the model properly and I think I may be close to getting it to work. The easiest part of rigging a model is getting the bones to fit the model. I have been using a CAT Model, which is a slightly different way of creating bones, to rig my model. A CAT Model creates bone structures such as legs, arms, spines, etc. to create the rigging for a model rather than creating bones one by one in order to create your own rig. This has been easier for me to rig in general because the model I was given was too big for the bones to be seen if I was using the bone creation tool, but the CAT Model was able to create bone structures big enough for my model so that I could see them.

The easiest part of the design process for my team and I so far has been the creation of our basic card templates that we will use to make the rest of the cards. However, the hardest thing for my team and I so far has been actually creating individual cards that are unique and add to the game. Since this game is based on a show that I haven't watched, it is somewhat difficult for me to create cards that are related to the show. I can only go on a wiki and look up what a character looks and acts like. My team and I ran into one surprise when we saw Kiren's work on one of the card templates. We were impressed at the look of the card and how she did it on her own time outside of school. So far I feel okay about the how the project is going and how my team is working. My only complaint is that I feel a little left out on the conversation sometimes only because it is about the show and, as was already stated, I am not familiar with it. My responsibilities on the team are to help with the creation of the cards as well as the templates and backs of the cards. So far our team is a little bit at a lost from what I can tell because we have to make a lot of cards still and it may take some additional time outside of class in order to create all of them.
